Supported

AppWhat to export
YNABBudget → Export, the nYNAB CSV export
MonarchSettings → Data → Download transactions
CopilotSettings → Export data
MintThe archived transactions CSV, if you kept one
ActualExport from the file menu
Lunch MoneySettings → Export
TillerThe Google Sheets export

Drop the export in as you would a bank statement.

What comes across

  • Every transaction, with its date, amount, merchant and notes
  • Your categories, including the structure, mapped onto Garden's category model
  • Your accounts, with their names and types
  • Whatever the source app recorded about clearing or reconciliation status

What does not

  • Budgets and goals; each app models these differently, so set them up fresh.
  • Attachments and receipts.
  • Anything the source app did not put in its export. Check the export before cancelling your old subscription.

Before you cancel anything

Import, then check your net worth, a familiar month, and last year's category totals against the old app. If they differ, tell us instead of fixing them by hand.

Keep the export file. It costs nothing and it is your fallback.

If your app is not listed

Most apps can export a plain CSV, which Garden reads. Category mapping will be lost, so you must recategorise; the rules engine speeds this up. Tell us which app you use.
